Careers

If you’re excited about the prospect of making a positive impact on the lives of children and families and enjoy working as part of a team, we encourage you to apply! We offer competitive salary and many benefits, as well as a supportive and collaborative environment.

About Us

Child & Family Associates of Greater Washington, LLC, a multi-year Arlington Magazine’s Best Mental Health Practice and Reader Pick Best Child Therapist practice. We are a collaborative group of highly skilled mental health providers located in the Washington, DC metro area. We are known to provide premier quality care and continuously strive to create an excellent work culture where employees can grow and thrive.

CFA is seeking dynamic and compassionate child and family clinical psychologists / psychotherapists to join our team on either a part-time or full-time basis. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of clients, using evidence-based treatments to help children and families overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

In this role you’ll work closely with our team of experienced professionals to provide high quality care to our clients, including integrative psychotherapy and psychological evaluation services for children, teens, and adults. Deliver family-based and integrative treatment and assessment while collaborating with parents, schools, and other professionals.

Creating clear, actionable treatment plans and assessments. Participating in team consultations and ongoing development.

You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up to date on the latest research and best practices.

At CFA, we offer more than flexibility and compensation — we offer the opportunity to practice therapy the way it’s meant to be done.

We have built a practice where clinicians feel supported, grow professionally, and take pride in their work. Moreover, CFA is an award-winning child and family mental health practice known for delivering thoughtful, high-impact care.

Our reputation is not built on marketing—it’s built on results.

  • The majority of our referrals come from current and former clients who have experienced the value of our work and want that same experience for their friends and families
  • We maintain strong relationships with trusted referral sources—including schools, physicians, and other professionals—who consistently seek out our collaboration and refer to us often
  • Our model is grounded in insightful interventions and targeted collaboration, allowing us to make a meaningful difference in how families function and move forward

The CFA Way

Everything we do is grounded in four principles:

  • Make a connection
  • Do the ordinary extraordinarily well
  • Do the next right thing
  • Go the extra mile

These aren’t just values—they define how we practice, how we support each other, and how we grow.

How We Practice

We are a strengths-based, collaborative practice focused on helping clients move forward—not just talk about problems.

That means:

  • Therapy is practical, structured, and goal-oriented
  • Parents are active partners, not observers
  • Clinicians collaborate with families, schools, and professionals
  • Treatment focuses on insight + strategy, not just diagnosis

We help clients understand how their thinking, behavior, and environment interact—and what to do about it.

Why Clinicians Choose CFA

Clinicians join CFA because they want to practice differently—and better.

  • You can focus on quality over volume
  • You’re part of a collaborative, supportive team
  • You grow through intentional training and mentorship
  • Your work leads to real, measurable impact for families
  • You can build a long-term, meaningful career

We are looking for colleagues who:

  • Values collaboration, clarity, clinical excellence and rewarding connections with clients
  • Have child, parenting, couples, or family therapy training or experience
  • Interest in strengths-based, skill-building approaches
  • Demonstrate excellent psychological evaluation and intervention skills
  • Preferably demonstrate skills in Cognitive Behavioral/Integrative psychotherapy
  • Comfortable working with families as part of treatment.
  • Education: Doctorate (Required)
  • License/Certification: Licensed Psychologist Credentials (Preferred)
  • Ability to Commute: Falls Church, VA 22044 (Preferred)

  • Vision insurance
  • Supervision & consultation as needed

This Is Not the Right Fit If:

  • You prefer working independently with minimal collaboration
  • You’re looking for a high-volume or insurance-driven model
  • You’re not interested in working with families
