This Privacy Policy describes how Child & Family Associates of Greater Washington, LLC (“CFA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit cfa-gw.com. It applies solely to this website and does not cover information collected through our clinical services, which is governed separately by HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Information We Collect
When you submit a contact form, we receive the information you enter — typically your name, email, phone number, and message — which is sent to us by email so we can respond. We do not store form submissions in a database on this site.
We also collect basic technical information automatically:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement IDs G-HDZ4MF3KFH and GT-K46M9732), via Google Site Kit, tells us in aggregate which pages visitors view, how long they stay, the general region they’re browsing from (anonymized IP), and the device, browser, and referrer used to reach the site.
- Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise protects our contact forms from spam by analyzing your IP and form interactions; data is processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Jetpack (by Automattic) provides brute-force login protection and basic site monitoring, and may collect IP and other technical data for security. Jetpack Stats is disabled.
- Server logs from our host (Pressable / WordPress.com) record IP, browser, OS, referrer, and pages requested, retained briefly for security and debugging.
Cookies
This site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — for analytics (Google Analytics), spam protection (reCAPTCHA), and standard WordPress/Jetpack session and security functions. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.
How We Use Information
We use information collected through this website to respond to inquiries, analyze traffic so we can improve the site, protect against spam and unauthorized access, and comply with applicable law. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose unrelated to your inquiry.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help operate the site — Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA), Automattic (Jetpack and Pressable hosting), and Gravity Forms (form processing) — all of whom are required to protect your data. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CFA, our staff, or others.

Because we do not sell personal information, the right to opt out of sale does not apply, but we honor all other applicable rights.
A Note on Healthcare Information
This Privacy Policy applies only to cfa-gw.com. Clinical information — including protected health information (PHI) — collected during psychotherapy or assessment services is handled separately under HIPAA and is covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices, provided to clients at their first appointment. This website does not store, transmit, or process any PHI.
Children’s Privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for parents, guardians, and adult prospective clients. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, contact admin@cfa-gw.com and we will remove it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information collected through this website, and our hosting (Pressable, a WordPress.com company) maintains enterprise-grade security infrastructure. That said, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
